Tunnel Vision

Tunnel Vision is the apex of my years long body of work speaking on trauma, the resulting loss of memory, and healing.  Comprised of fishing wire, this installation is an ephemeral representation of the peak of my lifelong journey to self-realization and reflection. I chose fishing wire because of its transparent nature. I wanted to hint at the journey, but not reveal it in its entirety. This can be said about the universal journey of life. As I grow and create, I learn at every crossroad that life is a collection of elements that fall into their exact place. We cannot fight it; but rather only be it. This is the place in which I found and realized this work. I hope it serves observers as a realization that life is a puzzle, and every fiber serves itself as a piece of the whole, that which has always and will always be. In the midst of much chaos, this piece is demonstration of the vulnerability found in letting go, and the tension in losing control, ultimately gaining an ability to see the entire picture of one’s life.
